Almost all my domains are with GoDaddy. I found out quite recently that domains can be returned within 5 days. GD do not actually guarantee a refund but I have not been refused yet and have returned quite a few.

It does give you a safety net if you do decide you don't want a name once you've registered it. I'm not sure how long they will honor refunds though, particularly if one makes a habit of returning domains.

Matt.

The same is true with moniker where you actually do get a refund automatically if you cancel the name with a 4 day period ($0.49 is deducted for fee and the amount is credited to your account).

Seriously, GoDaddy. Although someone introduced me to NameCheap.com the other day. The best and easiest no hassle control panel I have seen in a while. Not the cheapest price, but sometimes ease of use trumps a lower price.

For security, ease of use, and convenience when buying I prefer namepros.
If you supplement the purchase with earned $NP it can also be the cheapest if not in fact free.

I get tired of signing up at different registrars and entering in CC info or making paypal transactions.
Everyone here already has an account and a automated deduction of $NP from your account is all that transpires.

I tried this site as it was advertised on this forum. The payment went through and got my domain. But the limitation here is it doesnt have a variety of domain extensions, which suits my requirements. So I would stay with the 2 I mentioned above and also godaddy.com.

Save a Life Diabetes Diabetes Diabetes Diabetes Diabetes Diabetes Diabetes
I believe there is no really "best" with the usual sense of the term

Best is consist from : price, support, trouble free, secure, user friendly.....
Always the price is the first to this features set
I didn't find all these years one registrar to have them all and it's logical because for example you can't have a very cheap domain and excellent support

The best registrar is the one that suits every individual domain name needs
I bet on price and trouble free environment, others to support and so on....

Most of the registrars mentioned above are top in the industry, start with the cheapest/reliable and move to the next if you have any kind of problem
