I'm a big LLL.US fan, but they sure haven't been strong this year. The 3character.com "minimum wholesale price" of $110 (which is supposed to be wholesale price for the very worst LLL.us) is unrealistically high. A slew of lll.us sold on TDNam today, and none even cracked $100:
None of these are great names, but some are decent. I suppose I shouldn't complain about the low prices as I've been buying them up . If anyone wants to sell a group of decent LLL.us, please PM me a list of them and asking price for the group.
In Other LLL.US news, it looks like Chappy just sold Fonzie_007 BFO for $150 an hour ago. If you want a quick flip, Fonzie, PM me and I'll pay you $200 for that name. I didn't have time participate in the auction today.
I believe the domains at TDNAM were regular auctions. Are you sure they finished? Many of the recent auctions at TDNAM have been cancelled before the domains have actually sold. If these did sell, I'm kicking myself for not bidding higher.
You are right the crummy lettered LLL.us are not going for $110. However, I suspect in about 2 months they will be back at that level. People seem to be sinking lots of money into .mobi right now and the other extensions are depressed. This is truly a great time to buy LLL.us.
EDIT: Chappy chose the buyout route for BFO.us, so everyone can be assured it did NOT sell for $150. However, Chappy and I were able to come to an agreement.
I just bought zuh.us for $100. Got 2 others, too. After reading through some of this, I kind of feel dumb for buying the other crappy letter ones for the price I did.
Dan, I wouldn't worry too much. The prices will be back up shortly.
Bob, congrats on the sale. Did I hear you right, $9500 for a LLL.biz? That's simily amazing! That's the highest .biz sale I can recall in a long, long time.
Yes, correct. I did not miss a decimal point. I think the name I sold could have topped the largest .BIZ sale to date, but I opted to make a quick nickle rather than a slow dime. Plus, I really do not like .BIZ. I just wound up with it in my collection. . . You know how that goes.

Goodbye domainers. It was fun while it lasted. . .
What about the premium LLL.US , what are some of the highest ones that have sold recently. I have mad.us and I was interested to know if there was a price guide for LLL.US with all good letters and the ones that are actual words.
Premium LLL.US go for low 4-figures easily. The value of one word domains vary quite a bit, depending on the value and the buyer. After all, the true value is what an end-user is willing to pay for it.
Just today I received an unsolicited 4-figure offer for GUR.US. Normally I would counter, but they are going to develop it into a "real" site and promote it heavily, so I figured I'd give them a break.
Don't worry about it Dan, I bought a batch of 100 names last year that all have a Z + 2 "premium letters", based on current prices I overpaid by about 40%. It will come back around, or, it won't, that's the game
Unfortunately I think the problem with this and so many of the new TLDs is that they are predominantly owned by domainers. We domainers were like hungry vultures on the release of this TLD and snapped up just about everything. Having most of the inventory locked up in the hands of domainers is not a good thing IMO.
I shaved my portfolio down to just mostly premiums. Looking forward to this market resurgence everyone is confident about.
The real problem is when domainers aren't willing to sell their domains for reasonable prices. If all of the LLL.us are locked up and people are asking xxx,xxx for each domain, LLL.us will never end up being developed by end users. When Patrick accepts a reasonable low $x,xxx offer on GUR.us, that helps stimulate the entire .us industry. The key to LLL.us thriving is for domainers to keep their asking prices reasonable so that end users will buy and develop.
OK, so are we over the .us panic and back into championing more LLL.us sales now?
I've had fits of both excitement and panic over the fate of .us market, but now there seems to be some more positive buzz lately. Is this due to the .mobi cooldown (is .mobi even cooling down)? Has the depression ended? Will LLL.us pick up in April and May as Fonz, Scrsteven, and others alluded to/predicted months ago?
