Well, if this is the case, perhaps the reasonable/non-astronomical .mobi prices at the 7March07 TRAFFIC auction will cool off some of the .mobi speculation and get things moving elsewhere.
I'm seeing:
Poor letters - $90-$100
Average letters - $100-$150
Premium letters - haven't seen any.
From what I've been seeing lately, poor-lettered combinations are going for around $100. But I really haven't seen a whole lot of LLL.us being sold lately...
P.S. - If anyone's looking for decent LLL's, I'm selling a couple.
There wasn't much interest in .us domains in the Moniker/Traffic auction, even the LLL.us. While many will see this as bad news, I consider it an opportunity. Keep the faith...
The LLL.us market has slowed down indeed. I will continue to pursue LLL.us at great prices, but will be more reluctant in spending market price on these names.
I do believe that these names will make a comeback, but at the moment, there are better investments.
It saddens me that I was wrong. Now, who's got some LLL.us they want to sell me at better than market prices?
If the year so far changes anyone's long term outlook on .US (assuming it was positive to begin with) then figure out how to start unloading your position. If it doesn't, it is a buying opportunity.
Neustar's zip sites had a lot of promise, but from checking a few out every now and then it seems they're struggling to attract advertizers or content partners. It would not be good to promote those .US zip code domains right now, they have to be better than the Marchex .COM sites or why bother...
The big fish in the industry have never shown much interest in anything except .coms (notwithstanding the recent addition of .mobi). It will just be a matter of time before .us catches on to a wider audience of end users. What's debateable is how much time it will take.
All I can say is I don't see many people selling lll.us domains, except to end users. If anyone were to offer up a bunch, or a portfolio, of lll.us at reasonable market prices they would be snatched up so fast it would make your head spin. "Serious" buyers don't really mess with 1 or 2 domains, the "little" domainers have already bought their names, and those who are late to the game just watched prices run up quite a bit and probably just aren't willing to buy at these prices because they figure the "easy" money is gone. Now it's time for the calm before the storm ...
you seem very optimistic - i dumped all my non-premium LLL.us domains.
I think premium LLL.us will not suffer like the others will, higher end user support. I would not want a bunch of QZV.us domains right now (no offense to whoever on this thread may own that one) but you get the point.

I guess it depends what you paid for them. I have more than a few, but then again my average cost is only around $25-30. Would you like to have a bunch of QZV.us right now that you only paid $25-30 for?
Like most things, when there is a big run up in prices there's always a chance of a "pullback". Does anyone really think lll.us, even non-premium ones, are NOT going to continue to rise in value over time? I can't imagine anyone would believe that.
The market has been pushed up by several LLL.US buyers and that has made the damand for them increase. Nothing materially has changed in the last 6-9 months to make these go up besides speculation. I debated long and hard about selling at that time but i was concerned about "replacement costs". Meaning, if i sold for $175 three months ago, could i replace the name at $150 later. I determined that I would not be able to replace them so i decided NOT to sell them. I am currently looking to add quality LLL.us to my portfolio at "reasonable" levels. However, I think until something is done with the registry and their promotion efforts, this extension will not be $200 for a "garbage" LLL.US for some time.
With that said, I just bought a LLL.us for $1250.00 so long term (3-5 years)I am excited.

.......................but the big fish who invest in .com use many different LLC and corporations
i have confirmation they are among us in the collectors of LLL.us but hidden
they are believers in the .us but would rather be quite, like a seed waiting for germination they own so much they dont even care to sell, they only buy.
The wounded will be bought out now thats just a matter of time.

The market has not been pushed up by anyone. All of the big lll.us owners put together all or most of their portfolios well before the prices ran up. End of story.
