 Though, in your step 5 (people stop bothering with .com's on mobile phones and default to .mobi) ... it should be noted, realistically speaking, that .COM sites will display properly on mobile devices and thus folks will never entirely not visit .com's (on mobile phones, TV's, or anywhere else) IMHO.  | Great thread. Valid points from both sides of the argument. If I was a new domainer, or a new NP member, and just arrived here to read all the .Mobi posts from the past 2 months, I would be split 50/50 on whether to invest in the extension or not. The thing is... I'm not new, and I'm still split 50/50 on my feelings about .Mobi No doubt, this is one of the more interesting and exciting extensions to come along in a while. It's also one of the scariest, and most uncertain extensions to come along in a while. So to sum up my feelings.... I just don't know.
