I just purchased MEG.mobi for $400 here at Namepros. :love:

- Very common name
- 116,000,000 results in Google
- The name of a movie coming out in 2008
- All premium letters and pronounceable
- One word
- Short for "megabyte"

I must say that I'm very happy with my purchase, and entry into the .mobi world. :cool:

Since you asked, I was thinking I could make more than $5200 as a developed site. I sure hope so anyway ;) Yes, it was a bit spendy relative to some other recent sales, but still considerably less than loan.mobi which is listed at 900k on afternic. Regardless, it wasn't purchased for resale.

The name is generic in that it can support a wide variety of lending markets from auto to cash advances. I am among the lunatics that thinks that the mobile market will service more than just ringtones & travel tools. Time will tell if it was an "inspired move"... or not.

BTW, congrats to the seller, creditwisdom.

Just sold MEG.MOBI for ~$1500 here at Namepros. I saw ~$1000 profit in a fast, three-day flip.

It has been sold on the premise that all dot coms will have a mobi counterpart for mobile browsing. When it sinks in that this just won't happen, these domains are not going to be worth a dime.

If real companies with real business develop dot mobi sites in real numbers, of course the dot mobi will flourish. Sticking up a few Adsense honey pots just won't cut the mustard. Anyway, the Good one are suppose to be locked away in vault for a couple of years. Yes, OK, hands up, they couldn't even get that right!
