I don't get it. gifted dot mobi sells for 400 pounds, but gold dot mobi can't get ten bucks? My better judgement and gut feeling tells me I don't have the real facts.

yes strange, but .mobi seems to be mostly speculation, so basically a domain is worth whatever someone's willing to pay, based on predicted future value. But gold.mobi seems like a find, worth at least a few hundred. Very popular and much potential if implemented.

No, after todays news .mobi is definitely not picking up (flowers.mobi being resold for $6,500), I would say the situation now is much worse than a year ago. My advice is to run a mile from this market.

The .mobi is moving into its landrush echo period. This is a smaller echo of the initial one year anniversary of its landrush phase when most of the junk domains are dropped. But there seems to be a post bubble shift underway in non-core (ie not .com and not your local ccTLD) gTLDs.

Still though, flowers.mobi managed to sell for less than its regfee but this is a very different market from the Domain Bubble market of 2005-2008.
