I did not really think that L-L thing would take off so quickly after the .mobi release!!!. I did read an earlier post regarding someones girlfriend wanting to pick up 8-p, yes i understand the emotion thing, Overall, i don't seem to grasp the - thing on phones!! Guess i'll be kicking myself if they do take off in the future as i don't see value in them!!!

The big question for me regarding L-L, (or L-N or N-L), is what are you doing if you have a big LL.com website and you do want a mobi extension (if it becomes default extension in cellphones, probably you will have to get one). I have not found any answers regarding this. As I understand, it will not be possible to reg a two charcaters .mobi (???) I see this as a potential big problem for established websites and thus for .mobi. Any answer?

If nothing has been done to tackle this problem, I see some potential value in L-L, because it could become quite common. As a newbie, I was indeed surprised not more were taken.

Many domainers are deathly afraid of hyphens (-). Conventional wisdom says NEVER BUY HYPHENS.

It really is a superstition.

End users have never heard that, will buy whatever is best for their business.

Still I am holding at two L-L.mobi, because superstitions last a long time.

There was only one I wanted, because the .com version was actually developed, and I had a chance to get it until about an hour ago, when it disappeared. I'm guessing that someone with alot of spare cash regged all of the remaining names left. Oh well...

You're probably right though, mjnels. They probably won't be worth that much. I'd rather save up and buy a NNN.mobi before their prices go up too high.

I think these domain names are worthless now and will be worthless after a year or so. Don't waste your money on cra*, but that's still my oppinion.

I wouldn't say they are worthless. There are many companies out there that use just 2 letters in their title, for example FG use F-G.com
What other domain are they gonna use when the minimum no of characters is 3 with dot mobi?

I don't think they're worthless at all... seeing you can't get two character .mobi's, if an end-user wants a two character only domain they'll have to get the one with the hyphen, making these ones extremely rare... sure the hyphens are a bit akward on mobiles these days but give it a few years with the PDA's/Smartphones coming out... the hypen on mobiles problem will be a thing of the past. I was able to grab about 4 L-L .mobi's, I was gonna grab another 30 or so this morning but looks like Matt there beat me to it! AH well, fair play to him.. hope he's successful with it, which I'm sure he will be in time.
