Wow! I guess I should be happy I got a few nice ones early on.

I'm surprised to see all of them (even the 'ugly' letters) grabbed already.

From earlier posts it looks like there were two buyers, one guy on Moniker who got everything but the worst letters, then someone else at GoDaddy (or perhaps GoDaddy itself) who quickly grabbed the rest. Could be the same guy at two registrars, but hard to see why. I wonder if Bob Parsons saw the first buy and got the rest himself???

Someone earlier asked why .MOBI instead of .COM. .MOBI is new, there are much better names available and hope that this new extension will become very popular for mobile devices. The risk is greater than .COM but the potential is greater.

The registration is for two years, not one, but it is a little higher than .com, about $18+ for two years. Cheapest seems to be Whiz.in and Registerdub.com, both registrar owners are members here at Namepros.

Indeed! Thankfully I picked up 20 of them during landrush and right after the price drop, so I ended up with some good ones!

I know a source, where one could purchase 10-12 of same/better quality for that price each.

I only grabbed one. DXD.com Maybe I should have grabbed more but I really didn't want to bring too much attention to the extension yet. I have enough to do already and with 600 domains renewals every year are starting to add up. I may have to take 2-3 days an research deeply into getting better keyword .mobi's. I can reg mobi for only $17 total for 2 years so maybe $200-$300 investment should be a start.

I also have n00b.mobi and l33t.mobi but I am not sure on their value.

Jagshemash!!

Im also surprised to find out that all of the LLL.mobi domains have been taken in such a quick snap by a speculator. Then again it was likely to happen because there is ALWAYS a big guy to pick up aa big chunk even if it's just to reap the parking revenue.

Now it's just time to see if there are any proper sales for these domains, see their value. Let the waiting begin.

Not that I have any LLL.mobi, you understand.

Looks like we already have one sale reported above: LIR.MOBI for $149.
That may not be too far off - the people who have bought these do not seem to want to flip them for a small profit.

Meaning that LLL.MOBI may be on a par with LLL.US and LLL.INFO, or close to it.

Now. Already.

WOW.

Hi all,

I grabbed two 3 letter .mobi domains earlier this month and now I'm kind of kicking myself for not getting more, hehe. I had no idea that they would all be gone this fast.

Take care,

The one thing that I am concerned about is the use of thes domains compared to their intended use.

????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=252024
Mobile internet is so stupidly expensive (and slow at that), no wunder all of the big names in the mobile industry are involved. (other than the share that they get for every domain sale). I don't know anyone that uses mobile Internet.

I wouldn't kick yourself, I don't believe that because they are all gone that they are worth much at all.

Every one will want 1k for their LLL.mobi, but once they see the reality they will sell them for a reasonable price. People have gone mad for this extension, it's been 'such a successful landrush' because they have been able to buy up LLL.mobis.

It's a good thing for one guy to buy up all of the LLL.mobis once you have all had your bit, but its not ok for the same with .EU. Just proves that you guys on here view success by how many you personally managed to grab.

I have roughly 30 LLL.mobi I just ran a script and found one last one and registered it yeasturday. So that means every single LLL and NNN.mobi is now gone, and what a fast pace it was. With Mobi sales picking up extremely fast I am not surprized to see them all go so quickly. Aswell as all the new-comers.

As for Jiblobs comment.
Mobile internet is currently slow because it is new, with satallite internet being almost 2 years old. Our current cable internet being almost 50. There is no surprize it is slow. In time the satallite internet will get strong and cell phones will be able to do basic tasks of a normal Laptop.

I hope you're right, that would mean that my only concern for the extension is illiminated.

This is great news, I grabbed about 15 "premium letter" LLL.mobis during landrush and was surprised to see so many good ones still available when general registration opened so was starting to feel like I overpaid for those.

At this point, I have to ask myself are the person who just spent XXX,XXX on the remaining LLL .mobi domains and Rick Swartz who paid $200,000 for flowers.mobi just rich and stupid, or do they know something I don't? Nobody with Rick's track record could be considered stupid, so that just leaves...
