If you're not into tutorials and want to learn everything on your own, start by trying out the items on the tool box one by one. Then when you think you've got their purpose figured out, familiarize yourself with each item on the drop down menu. If you know how to use Photoshop, then Flash won't be so difficult. Just keep this in mind: Layers & frames.
