Godaddy's Cash Parking

The Godaddy promotional email stated "New Web Trend" in the subject line. New? Where have they been?

I just signed up with godaddy's parking 2 days ago, and I made money on 1 of my 12 domains, emega.com - which made 28 cents so far, and had 7 clicks=4 cents a click, I am using their basic plan.

Does anyone think I should switch out of godaddy's parking program and go to namedrive?
Any tips?
I am hoping that soon I will be getting more than 4 cents a click!

Thank you.

I'm sure you realize this but you're not actually making any money on those domains until you cover the cost of the parking program itself.

To answer your question, YES. There's no point in sticking it out w/ Godaddy, even if you did pay for it. NameDrive and Sedo are free and you'll probably average more than 4 cents a click.

If you're into a more hands on approach with greater long term potential, I'd suggest trying 1plus.net. It was developed by a Namepros member and allows direct input of your own adsense code. It's very versatile.

ND rocks, just forget about the money you paid for GD parking and move them all to ND

Unfortunately emega, it's a bullet I had to bite and even though you just paid for it, it's better at ND. I'm usually pretty up on things, but I completely spaced it when signing up with GoDaddy's CP. I did no research before on that one. It's true, to make any money, you'd need to make more than the monthly fee.
I let it go and signed up with ND yesterday. It's free. Try it out. Place a couple of domains on there if you'd like and save a couple at GD. That's what I did for now, but I'm going to be moving all mine to ND. You'll see why when you get there.
If you need any help or have questions with it, I suggest looking up fonzie_007 on here. He was pretty helpful to me.

Now they've done something else with this. If you look at expiring names on tdnam.com, many of the names have an icon next to them that indicates that the name is available only to GoDaddy Premium CashParking members. I don't know how they select which ones have that icon and which do not. Anyone know? I assume they'll see if they can get enough people signed up for the program due to their desire to bid on a name. If not, they'll most likely drop that program because they will lose money on the names they are auctioning off.

However, I smell opportunity. I'll join the program so I can bid on names that will have less bidders than normal. :)

By the way, other than this I love Godaddy. I have 3500 names there. The CP is the easiest and most flexible around. Too many offers? Just click the box at the bottom that you don't want to see them. Takes a second. big deal. With my stored payment info, I can register a name in 30 seconds. I also get concierge service when I want where I get discounts and a dedicated guy who is always there for me to get things done (like mass renewals, custom lists I need, etc). And the names are inexpensive to purchase. There's always a coupon to get coms under $7 and mass renewals are around $6. I've been buying cc's and they are only $20 (less with my discounts)--enom charges $50.

Nope, GoDaddy is a fantastic registrar. Just skip the crap they sell so they can charge you less for great features.

Alright all, call me a noob. I bought into GD Cash Parking figuring it's better than leaving my domains undeveloped for awhile. Have around 50 domains listed with it. Had it for about a month. Revenue received: $0.00. I basically resorted to using it as a tracking report to see which of my domains are getting traffic from interested parties.

So, now that I've thrown more money at GD (by the way, I don't buy into their other services), any suggestions on how to turn this around?

Pull out of Cash Parking, make my own pages, put adsense on them? Then ride it out and look at NameDrive as they each expire.

Look at moving to NameDrive now?
Sedo?

I don't have time to develope these domains into full sites, but could make a template page for all of them.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Take your names that get no traffic but you feel have a strong chance of selling and place them on Sedo. Take the traffic names and keyword them with the highest paying click ads and park them at namedrive or fabulous.

I have tried godaddy's services; both when they had the service for resellers and also the paid service and I found it no different than all the other services I have used in the past with no success.

Not to mention how expensive it is in direct relation to the results they produce.

For me the way to go is with targeted adsense sites with actual relevant content.

It takes more time to setup; BUT the search engines index my sites and I actually make a decent income :)

Yeah... LOL!!! Pay $20 bucks a month to get 80% of a .03 cent click. At that rate, it would take me roughly 667 clicks to break even each month. That's 8004 clicks per year to net ZERO Dollars.

Conversely, 8004 clicks per year at Sedo, Parked, Fabulous and virtually anywhere else even at the same .03 cents would be $240 bucks but we all know that they tend to pay better than that.

Consider the same 8004 clicks via an Adsense optimized site... making around a buck a click, that's EIGHT GRAND a year.

Surely, somebody at GoDaddy must KNOW this. That being true, this is the most blatent case of taking advantage of their customers I have ever seen.

Of course, they could be paying out $6 clicks too... that would turn things around pretty quickly.

Or maybe they just feel left out with Google and Yahoo both getting sued over click fraud and GD wants their day in court. ;)

Personally I think godaddy are ripping people off !!!
Charging for the service and THEN taking a % from the profits... Not Fair!!!

I understand they are a business; but why not:

1- Make it a free service and share revenue

OR <----------------------------------------- OR, not AND

2- Charge and let people keep THEIR money.

Amen
