List of FREE Stock Photo Websites At one time or another, you will be looking for images to use on your website and a quick google images search just won't do the trick. Here is a list of websites that offer free stock photos, which are images you can use for free without running into copyright issues. FYI: There is a difference between FREE stock photos and ROYALTY-FREE stock photos. FREE stock photos are free, without charge, for you to use however you want. ROYALTY-FREE stock photos often require an initial payment, but can be used without further payment for commercial purposes (some may have a limit of how many times it can be used). The list of links below should be, for the majority, completely FREE stock photos. There should be absolutely no Rights-Managed ("licensed images") in the list below. Rights-Managed images require you to pay for every time you use it or reproduce it, so if you find one in the list below please let me know. StockVault (has free web templates too) http://www.stockvault.net WAS VERY HELPFUL I'm making a new site called linkpirates.com :) similar to linkbee.com and I got over 1000 image results with the keyword pirate And I found the things that I needed and they were really cheap. I suggest anyone whos looking for a stock image check that site out, They have what you need. thanks for the list, JYM |

I like the site too... they generally do offer a selection for MORE than 10 - - - but the script will stop you after you've downloaded the 10th... they just show more then 10 to give a person a selection to choose from... Added fotolia.co.uk to the list. Corbis.com doesn't seem to offer FREE stock photos, just royalty-free photos. There is a difference... or perhaps you only need to login. Please verify and let me know if it does actually have free photos. |

I've updated this thread with a website which contains a set of vector icons. This website, the Tango Desktop Project, is open source and I believe you can use their graphics for anything (as they give you the vector format of the icon). It is not necessarily a stock photo, but these icons can be enlarged and look very nice. |
