yep - I agree. I'm a graphic artist / web developer by trade, and frankly would LOVE to get into developing the front end to a parking system!! Everytime I hit a crappy landing page I can't help but think how I would do it differently, but you also don't want to wander too far away from what works. Parked has got it down more than any service I've seen so far, and has accounted for domain categories I hadn't even thought of, which is really cool. It must be tough to build out fully optimized landing pages that will suffice for any situation thrown at it.
The cognitive intent of the direct nav surfer is the ultimate decider and choosing a domain with their perceived intention in mind requires a landing page that furthers that intention. There are a couple of situations where the domain name, and the category layout with the underlying keyword-generated links begin to fight with each other, and some domains just won't work parked at Parked. No platform will support and optimize 100% of direct nav or accidental traffic. I've learned which domains which WILL work in concert with the formula at Parked, and I've gotta say, it's most of them!
Hell, half the fun of grabbing a domain and pointing it at Parked is seeing what template there is that will work with it
Eh, my two cents.
PS I appreciate the fact that it takes a day to resolve CTR estimates, but why not just report the actual data? and how come it never goes up?
