Hey guys, I too was pulled in by this scam, this time the guy approaching me called himself Abrahm Connelly CEO of FJO Solutions.
I contacted Emetrix with the following email:
Hello
I have just been made aware of a scam that is taking place on the internet regarding domain name apraisals
I was contacted by someone called Abram Connelly who claimed to be the CEO of a company called FJO Solutions- saying he was interested in my Domain name.
He asked for me to get an appraisal done for the value of my domain name, and directed me to a forum which claimed to have a list of reputable appraisers. I chose the company securenamesell for my appraisal which cost me $81.08. I also listed my name for sale with securenamesell which cost me a further $47 dollars.
I have know learnt in some online forum that this man Abram Connelly is a con artist who trades under several different names and who owns apraisal companies and cons people out of money by directing them to his companies. This considered I am writing to formally request a refund from yourselves for the total amount spent of $128.08 as I was effectively tricked into participating into a fradulent transaction with securenamesell.
I assume that despite speculation on many forums your company is not aware of this scam and so my card will be refunded immediately. I hope this information is enough to resolve this matter to my satisfaction and I will not be forced to take the matter further.

They ignored it
So I wrote them again with the following:
Hello,
On the 5th May 2007 I sent the below email asking for a refund to my account after being made aware of an internet scam that has been taking place.
As my email has not been responded to I am intending to file an official complaint with The Internet Crime Complaint Center detailing them of your possible involvement in this scam and explaining how I have been defrauded out of a considerable amount of money. I will also encourage any user listed on the forum to do the same.
Naturally should this issue be resolved to my satisfaction immediately I will reconsider this decision, however if I do not hear form you in due course I will go ahead with my complaint.

To which they responded in less than 30mins with an email addressed to Securenamesell with my request for a refund. Ill et you know if I get my money back!
I suggest if you have been hit by this scam you contact emetrix who are supposed to be a reputable company and bascially ask for you money back.
If they dont respond tell them you will contact the ICCC and encourage others to do so (which we should perhaps do anyway as emetirx seems to know about this scam but yet does not cease to trade with the companies involved.)
