Ian, do you realize how cool what you're doing is? You are helping us so much and your not asking for much in return. Thanks for starting this business.
The adsense ad is wayyyyy off to the right where noone can see it. How can I fix this? On my other domain, everything looks fine. I did everything the same, except keyword, of course.
Thanx.
Edited to add:
**Nevermind. I just needed to change the keyword. I first used nyc lasik...no info on the page, then laser surgeon...that is the kw that messed up the page. Then I used just lasik...made the page look funny as well. And Now, eye surgeon seems to work ok. Can anyone suggest a better keyword??

Yep, looks like you figured it out. It all has to do with the length of your chosen keyword(s). I have one that is even longer, and sets the Adsense ads off WAY to the right: effectivelinks.com
Regarding the keyword, I tried a test with LASIK as the keyword and the page looked great, with relevant news and ads, except that one news story forced the content to the right, apparently because of a formatting issue beyond your control. Perhaps Badger could help with that?
Before you go overboard with the praise consider that Ian's taking a percentage of the landings for his adsense code. I'm sure that he's as motivated by profit as the rest of us.
He's taking a low percentage, and the pages seem good so it's a good deal, but the proof, as they say, is in the pudding.
For myself, I've set up my redirect script for most of my low volume domains so the landings get distributed between 1plus & namedrive. I'll be carefully examining the outcome to see which service does best for which domains in my portfolio. If all goes well, both Ian & I will profit from this transaction & everyone will be happy.
Please don't think I'm being negative about this. I'm always happier doing business with someone when I can see how they benefit from the transaction, this means that they aren't going to suddenly run out of funds or get bored with it and shut the whole thing down. From what I've seen Ian's got hosting & has found a way to get a lot of domains & traffic to that hosting. I wish him every success.
Is anyone else having problems with the "verify" option? I have PM'd Badger a few times regarding this, with no response. I understand he's VERY busy with putting all of this together and probably hasn't gotten around to his full inbox, so I thought I'd ask the folks here.
About half of my domains are showing as NO in Verified, even though my email address appears in the registry for all of my domains. Apparently, the 1Plus verification script has difficulty reading the format of some registrars information.
I understand the need for showing YES to Verified, so that the pages are indexed in Google.
The verification is only neccessary if you're selling the domain. If you're just parking then it'll be fine unverified.
Just be patient. He'll get round to sorting it soon enough. It's probably not at the top of his agenda right now, what with working on the nameservers and everything else.
The answers to the majority of questions asked over the last few pages have been answered a long time ago. It just seems that no one is able to find them now.
I'd like to request that this thread be cleared out. Get rid of most of the posts and put all the relevant information into a locked help thread and keep this thread as an intro to 1plus.net or suggestion thread.
Badger, if you can get a mod to do that, it'll probably resolve a lot of the issues people are still having and would enable people to find the answers more easily rather than having to search across 10 pages.
If the mods want to do that, I can probably help if they need it.
Great idea, thanks. OK, cool on the verification thingy. You're right... it's become difficult to find relevant information in this thread. A cleanup would be awesome. Thanks for the help.
I'm going through my domains at 1Plus.net and adding the main keyword for each.
I'm not sure if, for the main keyword ("KW"), should I put: "real estate" or is it better to remove the space: "realestate".
As for the second section marked "Keywords", do you separate these by commas or just spaces? Is it best if you enter as many keywords here as you can or just the most relevant?
Do you have an estimated time when the name servers will be working? I switched over yesterday.
My websites are now lost in cyber space. If its going to be a few days I will change back to name forwarding again. I know your busy at it, and I am not complaining. I love what your doing for us. Just would like to know so that I can do whats best on my end. thanks
Yep, 2 words are fine. I have a couple that have 4 or 5 keywords, ex. "New York City Real Estate", "Kansas City Real Estate".
You just need to make sure the keyword(s) you choose actually trigger:
- some appropriate/relevant news feeds
- ideally at least a few Overture matches
- appropriate/relevant adsense ads.
Sometimes you have to play around with the words until you get just the right combo and wait a little while for adsense to catch up and trigger appropriate ads based upon your KW(s).
Ok guys... Were there... He says with a prayer....
Ive still got the root domain pointing to the current host but we have set up the new private server and uploaded the latest files from the old host...
So, for the next 12 hours, im gonna point a few of my domains to :
ns1.1plus.net
ns2.1plus.net
Which resolves to the dedicated server.
Then, if all ok, I'll repoint the root domain.
Remember, logging on to the site will take you to the current hosting not the new and only domains using the NS change option will see pages from the new host.
Ok questions/comments:
No it should'nt and youre not.. (if youve simply given the site your adsense pub id, then it will server the default ads for you, if youve customised then thats what you'll get). House code will only display 10% of page views and this actually has been turned off for 2 or 3 weeks while we fixed the search problem.
Yes, i see that. We will structure the code so that when the site makes you a trusted member, all your domains automatically become verified. Ive verified all yours now by hand.
Yes, we fixed this issue a little while back. You may use spaces in your keywords but, be mindful that you need to think of the auto "news" and also "ads" when choosing the KW/s. You may run a little test to see whats what before parking, by hand typing this url in your address bar :
EDIT** Still working on this issue with slow movement forward...
The problem comes in having to add all user/s domains to our DNS zone on the server - which is a manual process...
Im sure the likes of Sedo / domainhop etc dont add all their users' parked domains to their server and must use some kind of wildcard dns entry on their server to overcome this problem. We, on the other hand, are not server experts and are being exasperated in our efforts. (server techs please step forward)
So, for now, if you would like to use our hosting IP to point your domains to(which will mean your domains are hosted in the proper sense i.e. they are indexed in their own right rather than as a sub page of 1plus), be my guest.
Simply change the A record/s of your domain/s to 69.73.150.250.
This, at least, means you can do bulk domain pointing without having to manually type the different forwarding addresses on each one.
And we will continue trying to sort the NS matter out.
im afraid with GD you will have to wait that little bit longer while we write a custom dummy DNS script that does a catchall domain *cough* wildcard dns entry..
In short, until nameserver change is possible..
Changing A records with godaddy is possible, when you click your domains "total dns control" option. Unfortunately, using this at GD doesnt (unlike Enom etc) allow you to do a bulk edit for all your domains..
