Goa is India's richest state with a GDP per capita two and a half times that of the country as a whole. It was ranked the best placed state by the Eleventh Finance Commission for its infrastructure and ranked on top for the best quality of life in India by the National Commission on Population based on the 12 Indicators.

From Wikipedia article you quoted:

"Konkani is spoken as a native language by about 60% of the people in the state. Other linguistic minorities in the state as of 1991 are Marathi (20%), Kannada (10%), Urdu (5%), and Hindi (5%).[40] All these minority languages except Marathi, are spoken by the recent migrants and not the natives."

English is widely spoken in Goa everywhere from Pernem to Canacona believe me. I dont know exact numbers but its definately not 5% which only means native english speakers - they are all probably tourists

If you want more realistic estimations of english speaking population in India its here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...ing_population - more than 125,000,000 or 11% of Indians speak english as a second language

Goa has a large population of Christians, so pretty much everybody speaks passable English.

You'd probably have to go to rural locations to find a place where no one speaks English in India.

Not that you'll always understand what passes for English in some places.

Possibly not because they are not a registrar - it seems registrars aren't allowed to auction .in names

Thanks guys, taking a bit of a risk with a relatively low reserve but will give an idea of where .co.in currently stands in the market place.

Great name! Why didn't you try looking for an enduser sale? Surely it would have fetched more.

Only 2 bids. High bid $310!

Thank goodness for a reserve. And we had approached end users with zero interest.

Just wondering: do you have some type-in for your NNN.in?

For now, NNN.in seem less valuable on reseller market than LLL.in. Does anyone have an example of developped NNN.in?

wine

...not to go nuts on keywords, but along with food.ind.in(which I may make a simple wordpress site out of if no interest is shown)I stumbled upon wine.firm.in.

Not much value unless developed but I couldn't say no to regging it. Who's to say?
