![]() ![]() ![]() | [QUOTE=tommiko]Very nice to see so many .in auctions at sedo! Yes, indeed, tommiko. I also see a bit more interest in my traffic statistics for .in . It might be that people are comparatively checking for stats when researching .asia domains, but also they might now look more into .in once they know what they did get of .asia or didn't get and have to turn to alternatives. That might give a change for us all now. That's my feeling.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | This is it! We'll get to see whether the lesser quality LLL.in will remained registered in a world of ~$15 reg fees.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | wow. honestly, the $15 renewal fees for .in are going to hamper it some.....its just so much for a relatively nascent tld.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The only great thing about it, is that if LLL.in are worth reg fee, then that means they are worth $15. So if you registered a LLL.in for $5, 2 months ago, you now can sell and make $10+. Am I right?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | First, the buyout has to hold at this higher registration level to maintain prices. Recent prices of the worst letter LLL.in have been about $10. If their price is perceived as reaching $15 then all new drops will be registered. However, unless their value exceeds $20 (discount reg + standard reg), then names registered during the discount period are likely to be dropped too (starting in November I suppose). If that happens, we'll have to see whether those domains get picked up (and thus, whether the value of a poor LLL.in is at least $15). Though it will take careful observation, these metrics will make it fairly straightforward to pin a value on the lowest quality LLL.in in the coming months. In the short term, things might actually go very low for these worst domains. I think there will be a minor panic as people who did buy for $5, try to get $15, and will be unable to get it. This will probably make the mid-grade domains take some of the price hit too -- as domainers often group domains into premium or not. I would suggest LLL.in buyers and sellers start examining the domains in terms of one, two, or three premium letters to help differentiate the classes, and minimize the price disparity between premiums and non. The all-premium-letter combinations now appear to be selling for no less than $50. As long as they maintain above two times registration fee value, they will probably be fairly insulated from the fluctuations.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Well I sold a whole bunch of double premiums, in bulk (27), for $14 ea. I regret selling these, but renewals cost too ![]() I've seen triple premiums go for $75 ea. or so - again in bulk (22) Three bad letters would be lowest, followed by two bad letters etc. but eventually a name's reseller value is dependent on these, not end user value, though there haven't been many end users... yet.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | yes, LLL.in are generally a good registration, i think. they can easily gain in value in little time. BUt what about other regular .in regs? Even .com, which is king is stil $7.50!. .IN being 2ce that is really detrimental to the supply side. Many indians will run to .co.in because of how high .ins price is. .co.in owners should pray that .in reg prices stay this high. Great .in names will remain great purchases, but the renewal fees for average/mediocre .ins will be less justifiable as time goes....
