As of now , .co.in have a low value and is supposed to be only used by registered co's or individuals who have trademarked , patented or registered IPR for the same. .co.in high value trend is only expected after 4-5 years minimum.
.IN do have a higher commercial value even now and is strongly gaining momentum. What .com is for TLD, .IN is for India (ccTLD) and the most beneficial feature is "in" which strongly makes a good set of phrase.
Also , will suggest people to go thru the forum as mostof the queries are already answered many a times with mixed opinions by different type of users !
If i would have money, i would have taken parked!!!!
I think the difference is typical in most domaining -- reseller versus end user values. Some domains, terms and acronyms are easier to identify as having more potential.
Hey, I found a .in for my hometown of Fresno, California! I thought that was cool : www.Fresno.in . Check it out, and find out about Fresno! By the way, Fresno State plays UCLA in football this coming August. Yup, people think it is the "hick" town of Fresno playing big UCLA! Don't laught yet, Fresno State has beaten USC before! UCLA killed Fresno the last time they played a few year back, but this is 2008!
IPL.in is great domain.
From April ,Indian Premier League is gonna begin in Bangalore.
Indian Premier League has generated a lot of hype and interest.
So ipl.in is a great domain to own.
Hoe, while a popular adult LLL in the US, only has significance with gardening in India, and the percentage of people in India with the garden is miniscule.
IPL on the other hand is huge potential based on the newly created Indian Premier League for t20 cricket, in fact, I'm willing to bet that it gets huge traffic surges since last week or so.
Gop.in is a hack for ladies of lore that surrounded on of the most popular gods, Krishna. Applicability here is totally different.
LLL.in which are acronyms of large companies are obviously valuable too, both in terms of traffic and potential sale.
The next big domain is IPT... if you own it, be prepared for a big payout.
Lmao. .co.in has its own value to the wise.
I make less on matching .co.in than on the .in, but maybe its just the names I have.
Thats only coz they had .co.in before .in was released and they spent a pretty penny on advertising it BEFORE they got the .in http://www.google.in
I would love to see some examples of MAJOR companies being launched now with the .co.in... (only commercial companies, not govt. ones).
Here are some on .in, launched after feb '05
airtel.in
vodafone.in
nivea.in
oneindia.in
click.in
airfrance.in
zoomtv.in
zoom.in
ibrand.in
... I could probably go on all day.
And what happens here on in is what matters... after all, some of us want to sell domains..
lll.in sold out, lll.co.in 12k left... lets see when and if they do sell out.
I think the .in/.co.in argument has been done to death, .in is as much superior to .co.in as .com is to .net, at least imho.
i think what BUZZ meant was that google strongly believes in .co.in & that is why they have taken .co.in. A user login with indian IP is redirected to google.co.in domain.
BUT, even i do not look .co.in as it will be an investment blockedfor atleast 5-6 years!;-)
