well if im not mistaken as as feb there is only bout 70k LLLL.com left unregged.. n mostly good brandable have been taken up in this few mths. 3-4 mths n about 30k LLLL.coms are regged..looking at this speed i think its goo dto stock up some good brandable LLLL.coms for future...like what happen to LLL.coms

I think that there is closer to 100000 unregistered domains than 70000. I have been watching estimates of the number of unregistered 4 letter domains fluctuate between 50000 and 150000 over the past 10 months. After seeing lots of different quantities given and never knowing who to believe and which techniques to be reliable, I decided to routinely test a sample of 2600 domains for availability and give estimates on the number of unregistered domains.

In the past 12 weeks, I have watched my estimates fluctuate between 110000 and 96000. There hasn't been any sharp drop in availability based on my estimates. Being a statistician, I consider a sample of 2600 to be very accurate to estimate the total number of unregistered domains. I stratify each sample by ensuring that there is an even spread of letters.

I have read that in other discussions on finding unregistered 4 letter domains that there are many difficulties in determining a list of unregistered domains. Personally, I consider sampling as one of the most accurate and efficient method of determing the quantity of unregistered domains.

My estimates on the last 3 months are that around 5000 - 12000 domains have been registered.

Hello,

I believe that investing in 4 letters.com acronyms domains is a risky investment. On the other hand, it doesn't cost much to try.

If you are lucky, a new company will want your domain if it fits the company name or acronym. But in general new companies can't afford much expenses.
