It's time consuming "I know" but I would agree totally with Admans post, analyzing and fine tuning your traffic for optimum CTR is an absolute requirement if you wish to accumulate more revenue from your ads - monitor what works and what doesn't.

I have 11 custom sites which turn over a few grand p/month from PPC, but it's not just AdSense. You may want to look into other ad sources like referral and text link networks, they can be "if not" more lucrative depending on your content and ad placement. Also think about selling your ad locations directly to other companies - create an advertisers page outlining the sizes, locations and pricing, contact them if you feel they could be interested.

Common sense and motivation - is required!

Thousands! You should aim for a portfolio of high PPC domains like Forex, loans, credit card etc..

Hmm. I've got Adsense running on my sites without much luck, general consensus of Adsense these days is that it is boring and the reader's eye has become "immune" to them. I think it is time for something new, I'm investigating new Ad Networks & will write a report on my findings. Granted, my sites are new but clicks? No way. To me, the most important ingredient is website traffic, without traffic, no-one is going to click. And that, yes, can only happen over time.

If your using MFA parking pages, what I've found is to keep the content to a minimum which will direct users more towards the ad links, here's a couple of templates I use:

http://mbanks.info

I usually switch off the auto content articles and spend a little time entering my own basic content which is helpful but not too much as to distract the user from the AdSense sponsored links and ads, I've seen a BIG increase in clicks like this.
