The upcoming year will really tell if the market can hold and raise the price of LLLL.com domain as we have seen in recent weeks. If domain speculators and investors horde their names and drops begin to diminish we will see a steady (although not heart stopping) rise in the LLLL.com marketplace.

There are a few NPers here who're catching a large proportion of the LLLL's that are dropping and a few like me who're using this as an opportunity to get some cheap names (these guys are happy to sell at $5+ under the going rate to fund tomorrow's drop). I'd look into that before looking elsewhere.

..the one thing that would have spoiled the party would have been the regular daily drops piling up in the corner as predicted by some domainers...it has never happened..they have all been hoovered up as soon as they touch the floor (is there any evidence to the contrary?) so that now the floor has decisively moved above reg fee...even if the default price has moved to just $10 all those who have a portfolio of say 300 names purchased at GD for say $7.50, will now have a 33% markup on their investment of $100. Now do they take the money or slap down the renewal fee of $7.50 * 300? most will I predict sell some to support the rest....

Yes at the moment we are way above $10. Only random bad letter names can be bought for approx $15 a piece... unless you are really lucky! $20-$25 seems to be the going rate for a double plus 2 bad or 2/3 premium letters depending on the name...

I've been out of the domaining game for a long while now - it feels good to return and find you're sitting on a sizeable nest egg. I think I'm going to cash in next year and buy a big screen plasma tv for my student apartment.
