I'd like to see what everyone has to say about my current 'site in development'.
It's not really a website per'se - but it's something i've been working on to see exacly how far i can go with dHTML. this is mostly framework at the moment and not much to do with 'showing infomation' - well, at least not yet.
I'd kind of like to get a feel with how it's coming along. http://www.superterran.com/longhorn/
it's based on Microsoft Codename: Longhorn.

| I think it's a pretty darn cool layout really and has some potential if you keep going with it. That's a cool lil shoutbox chat thing you've got there. LOL, looks just like msn. I imagine you could possibly run into copyright issues with using all the Microsoft graphics and such on there if you actually got the site going, but who knows for sure. Anyways, overall I think it's a pretty darn cool layout. :beer: | |

I don't think i'm going to use it as a layout, just wanted to test and see how far I can go; and if mircosoft wants to tango... wait, i'll just cry and give them my first born : ' D the beast of the west kind of scares me.
i got some pretty nifty ideas for what I want to do with it, I'm going to be stretching the bounds of web design w/o flash though - kind of interested on how it'll work when i'm done with it.
And plus, MS has bigger fish to fry than some little ol' programmer in the middle of the boonies.

| *cough*I hate it*cough* Again copywrite problems, microsoft hates copycats. I do too. The design as far as testing your skills *sticker* good job for pushing your limits but overall I hate windows lol. Give me a text based operating system any day.

| Honestly I don't like the knockoff. Too me it looks like you used a free javascript code and a screenshot from your desktop with a few rollovers. I do admit it is a great masterpeice of talent and ability but the idea could have been original. Have you ever thought of making your own 'fake' gui? Something like you see in startrek(but don't steal that) or andromeda(I just named two of the worse tv shows in history in one post *gives self a sticker*) Either way, Good effort bad design.
And yes microsoft touched me in a red spot. I was working on my webpage like a year ago running windows 98se and the entire system crashed. I lost all my data, stock photos, cummalitive of 237 hours of work. I've never forgotten it. So I store my important files on a seperate linux machine and use windows for compatibilty and certain programs.

| Tip Insomnia: Don't use Windows 98se I know it's pretty compatable, but I've run 2000 Pro for two or three years now and it's the msot stable Microsoft OS I've come across - a vast improvement on lost data and frequent crashes under 98 anyway.
Text OS would be cool... but wouldn't that put you out of a job? Although I have got RedHat on this machine (Dual Boot) so I can't say I'm all for a pretty GUI
Looks good SuperTerran, nice idea - although it would be cool if you duplicated this idea with a different GUI though (And might keep lawyers off ya back
Good work though, I'd give you a kudos but there is no such system here lol.
