Not only this but youths and young adults usually pick up new technology and put it to use way before the bigger companies and this usually results in the big boys picking and choosing their candidates easily. They turn bedroom driven "individuals" into overnight millionaires. It happens all the time.
Take Google for example.
If I'm correct, they found some university "STUDENT" with a great search algo and pulled him right outta school. He's head of something over at google labs and this is a prime example.
