yeah, why??
It's interesting because that "3" represents a "B", which stands for B-Man.

Unless you are the creator of http://www.b-man.dk...which I don't think you are...

well typically a logo is supposed to be in vector format so it can be easily transferred to any media and scaled to any size without a resulted loss in quality.

oh yes dont get me wrong i understand it to a point, but not everybody wants t resize it use it for printing and such and some other people do, i can do vector (limited results though, lol) but you get better effects if its not a vector logo.

no problem....but in order to make a logo it does not have to be vector unless the person that's asking for it specified...correct me if i am wrong

speaking from experience the problem with creating an original logo in pixel format (e.g. photoshop) is that even if the buyer does not specify they will be printing it on different media/different sizes, they may want to in the future. a logo is the defining element of a company and who's to say that company doesn't flourish and need different means of advertising? I like photoshop as much as the next person but when dealing with logos you must be careful. I have had people in the past not specify they desired to enlarge the logo and I ended up having to recreate the whole logo in vector format, thus doubling my workload. You may cause a company substantial damage if you create a logo in pixel format and they need it in vector later on. If you talk to any senior designer or research logo designing you will find that any format other than vector is a major mistake and is advised to NEVER create a logo in pixel format.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=129658

but like I said, I LOVE photoshop but keep in mind, once the logo is created in vector format you can always import it into photoshop and add additional effects for viewing on the web (e.g. website headers, etc)

but that's still does not give you the right to be talking about other designers because you should worry about yourself and no one elses, or is it because you want to get all the people that you can out of the contest so that you have an easy win because that's just wrong, you do your designs and i do mine.

The-YoungLat, i dont think thats what he was trying to do i think he is just trying to explain why doing a vector style logo is better for the person who is buying the logo, and if it was any sort of criticism i think it would have been constructive criticism

exactly... as I stated, I have fallen victim to not following that advice. I had to redo alot of hard work just because I didn't do it right the first time. Personally I could care less whether or not everyone chooses to do the logo in pixel format I just thought I'd give you a fair warning in case you might want to try it in a different format to avoid making that same mistake...
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=129658

but that's all I'm going to say, nothing further. I don't want to clutter this thread up anymore than it already is lol

GHOwner will become famous soon enough

Yeah, The-YoungLat, he never said "you suck cause you used Photoshop", he was just saying that vector is best to use for logos, as they are resizible. So, be sure to read his whole post to see that before getting mad at something he would never do (try to get others out of a contest).

BTW, is there a way to convert a PSD to vector? Thank you.

(can send answer via PM, so no more spam gets in here)
