Sorry to hear that Primavera, Maybe he just got busy and will get back to you good luck with that.
Nice regs Westblock now the Guy who runs Farm.tv owns a bunch of NHL team names points them to Farm.tv he has owned them for a long time. Try to find an affiliate program with officially licensed Merchandise.
Back to this interesting .tv thread with another few noob questions. Let's say I am interested in purchasing a very nice .tv name from a seller. I know the name is a premium but how can I make sure before the purchase :
-that the reg fee given by the seller is the right figure ?
-that VeriSign, taking the opportunity of the effective change of ownership, will not in the meantime increase the reg fee of the name ?
Last question : how/why a sale can change a high premium reg fee to a low $100 or a $50 standard fee? Is it a case per case agreement to be met with VeriSign ?
Thanks for your reactions !
Argos someone would have to be honest with you selling a premium name in telling you what they paid, if It was LLL you know now it is going to cost $750 you have to have an account with DOT TV corp to buy a name from a seller, Here is another thing the seller must pay both years. Example I reg wwe.tv for $750 and In the first year I sell to you, before .tv will let me transfer the name to you I must pay the second year $750. I think .tv will keep the reg fee it is their standard premium fee I do not thinK they would raise the price.
From DOT TV FAQS
What are the requirements to conduct an online transfer?
Under our new online transfer process, the following requirements must be fulfilled:
Web address has been owned for at least 60 days.
Your account password has not been changed within the last 10 days.
The entire contract for the Web address must be paid in full. For example, if a Web address has only been paid in full for one year on our minimum 2-year contract, the second year must be paid before the domain may be transferred.
The person to whom the domain is to be transferred (transferee) must have an account with The .tv Corporation or open an account with us.
The transfer fee is equal to the current first-year value of the domain names. Refer to our Pricing Policy for current prices.
Web address to be transferred must be a .tv Web address registered to your account with us.
If any of these requirements are not met, an online transfer cannot be executed.
So you can see it is not a free push any time left on reg means nothing, you pay First year right away.
I think Syndicated excellent as I said before could be used as a b2b site many syndicators who go out and package shows and handle tv shows when they have been on for a long time and you see reruns on like UPN oR FOX, and when shows are off the air. Good Name
It is not premium and therefore you will have no problem that's not to say that a name drops and theyt reclassify as premium happens all the time and vice versa. West Virginia and New Hampshire dropped from premium to non premium pricing.
Maybe this helps, I bought several names in one package for a discount and of course had the same worry that you had. I was assurred that all reg fees ones negotiated and regged will always be the same. A few months later after some new names I asked the same question in a different way (just to be sure) and got the same answer, this time with the word 'forever', so I wouldn't be too worried about it. It is also a strange thing to do, but if this has happened to someone here or will happen later on, please let me know as I will confront this contact, but I am sure you don't have to worry.
Edit: However, like Equity is saying, if a name is dropped or still free to register, they can do whatever they want with the reg fee.
Should I be patient and keep GUN.tv in my sleeping portfolio ?
The name is just parked and gets a few bucks each month, so far no offer for it and I do not expect to develop it. This is a powerful interactive 3 letter word for the high powered armement industry, security professionals, gun amateurs, short and catchy yes....but I am not convinced, what do you think worth keeping it ?
Thanks !
Argos just keep Gun.TV for some month and see what happens.
I own statistics.tv and I'm planning to develop it, but I wouldn't ever sell it in this moment in any case.
Tv are a new investment, they can't give u back money in 3 or 4 months

Hi & thank you Gattoplano for your reaction. I got Gun.tv since October 2003...., just wondering whether I should reg something else than this one or sit on it (no joke with Gun pls) and wait and see. Still hesitant.
Argos if you were going to spend the money $750 then I would say there are better choices out there. There are not many applications for this name with TV unless the outdoor life network or a&e or maybe even ESPN develop a show around this for the sportsman. SInce Espn has not regged any others and brands their own ESPN.com EXPN.com ESPNU.com I owuld say this could be expensive hold. WWE.tv has ovt with ext Wrestling is huge WORLDWIDE there are potential TM's on this one but could get some decent traffic. I would also look at a name like BUM.tv could be big in England. If you know you are not going to develop anything I think WWE.tv could be pretty good or maybe TNA.tv T and A and also another wrestling show named Total Nonstop Wrestling that will replace WWE on SPIKETV. I would even consider spend $500 and get a country like Luxembourg or $1000 for Denmark.tv Just my opinion
Just your opinion ? I, and should say 'we', do appreciate it Eq.. Thanks a lot.
Ok I give up for Gun.tv, for those who are interested in developing this name be ready to catch it in about 50 days !
Gun.tv is a quality name. If Verisign isn't charging any markup for it, I'm willing to bet that it gets snatched up quickly, especially because it is in Great Domains (though any new owner would have to reapply for a Great Domains listing for Gun.tv.)
I believe it would be worth trying to sell this Argos rather than let it drop. It would be such a shame to see it go without attempting to find an end user. I will give you a hand with this if you want. If interested drop me a PM and I will pull a list together for you.
I was not dispariging the name But I know argos said he would not develop the name, it is not really intuitive with TV and any LLL.tv you reg Great Domains will list. I agree AMCY its a good name but for $750 for the next two years Argos could get WWE.tv that will get traffic probably 4 to 5 a day and Is intuitive with the ext There are TM issues so you need to be careful. UPN.tv a network is avail would get some traffic so is Bum.tv which could play well in England. Jump.tv is $1000 got ovt with EXT each month don't love it but keeps a ovt with ext every month. AND instead of $750 I would spend $500 ARGOS TableTennis.tv had 4 bids on SEDO free to reg and easier name to develop site around. IMO
I agree AUNTY always try to sell first but that $750 bill comes then make a decision.
I asked ELEQUA to post hopefully he will give some wisdom.
Oh, I completely agree with everything you have said Eq What I was getting at though is that I am sure Argos could find an end user even with the high reg fee if the work was put in (not going to be easy though with the time restriction).
I agree the reg fee is too high for an investor when there are better names available. But if I had a gun shop I would jump on it...
