This is exciting and a really nice sale, especially as I know the buyer, that is my favourite soccer club in Holland (when I'm in Holland I always try to visit a game). The club is called AZ and are quite rich, especially as they have a wealthy owner (Dirk Scheringa / DSB Bank Frisia) and are building a new stadium for around 30 million, so they can afford buying the name
If I were the seller I would request a VIP box in their new stadium as part of the deal
The $ 15,000 is a bargain IMO as soccer games will be more and more sold by the clubs themselves and often can be seen online. Good news they wanted this .tv name, for sure they will develop.

Yes argos they own plenty of names a lot of good ones, THEY are either MRS Jello or affiliated with MRS JELLO and I blelieve they own the DOMAIN SPA parking service.
BEN VAN DYK is another Big player rins far,.tv and owns a lot of other names that he points to FARM.tv like hockey teams not sure why if you are lookingm for a hockey team you probably don't want FARM.tv
Thanks Equity for your informative input as always. We have the great opportunity of having Elequa part of this thread and benefit from his pro guidance, maybe it is a bit naive but would it feasible to invite Mrs Jello's and Ben Van Dyk for sharing their views and experiences ?
I know tt but this is for FARM like cattle and crops and they are professional teams, if someone types in redwings.tv they are looking for HOCKEY not farm related content.
"In a move that further blurs the lines of television and the internet, Yahoo! and TiVo have partnered to schedule downloads to TiVo boxes from any internet connection"
This is moving quicker than I thought.... Time to get developing my .TV domains! The window of opportunity is going to be very short for the average joe. So if you have a decent .TV name try getting it developed now. Otherwise, I'm thinking the heavy hitters are going to pounce all over this in less than 6 months. (The revenue from advertising on "Internet TV" is just too huge to overlook)
I get the same impression for Sin.tv, I have recently sold Vice.tv... so enough for me !!!
I have just been stucked with Godaddy during registration of a very nice non-premium .tv name... seems I missed the name in the last seconds... has any of you reggered HomeCinema today ? Aaaargh !
Incredible afternoon to try to catch HomeCinema.tv which was available (!), after payment I have got a message from Goddady : "Error: HOMECINEMA.TV: cannot register - either already registered or .TV premium name", to discover in fine this evening that registration has worked out and the name is now mine ! Happy to share with you this good news
I am right now listening to some exciting business news related the evolution of TV, specifically how the big media companies don't want to give up their tried and true (= highly profitable) advertising model for TV, but consumers want to have their favorite shows available for download so that they can watch them anytime on their Ipods, etc. without commercials.
So the question is: how are the big media companies going to deliver what the consumers want and still make money? They probably won't make much by charging $1 per TV episode.
....I think I can answer your question. The "big media" companies are going to be forced into competing with the likes of Yahoo and Google who are are acting more and more like "TV networks". These "internet companies" have the infrastructure and millions of visitors in place to capitalize on $1 "TV downloads" whereas a "Paramount Studios" in Burbank California will have to change their delivery systems or be forced out of business. My guess is the shakeout is set to begin.
