Awstats vs. Webalizer
 

Well, I have a small problem. I have hosting with cPanel and both are installed, but which one is better? Awstats shows me more visitors than Webalizer, so which one should I trust?

hard to say, I use awstats to keep track of my traffic, most people do as far as I know. Not had any problems when it comes to reliability and accuracy so far..

I had a similar experience once the only difference is that Webalizer showed more visitors than Awstats.

Webalizer seems to include redirects and search engines in their visitors list, where awstats filters most of that out. Probably why webalizer shows more visitors than awstats does.

yes so neither are inaccurate, its just awstats is more detailed alittle bit. I use 3 stats and compare them to each other to estimate the exact counts if needed.

In my cpanel there is being the diffenet thing, more visits in Webalizer so i prefer it ;)

awstats all the way, i really hate it when hosts dont have it in the cpanel :P

but one must be inaccurate because one shows only 100 visits and the other shows 1000 visits :eek:

not really, 900 of those 1000 could be search engines, I get over 1000 visits by the google bot a day on average...

but Awstats shows more than Webalizer and sunken said that Webalizer includes redirects and search engines

i personally go with awstats

well in my opinion AWstat is the BEST !

all stats programs make assumptions, and are inaccurate.

i prefer awstats over any other. And i too HATE it when i get a host that doesnt have it/. :)
