It's a Yahoo! owned search engine that tracks how many times keywords are searched. This is a useful tool in the DN business, since we can use it to predict the amount of traffic or brandability a name will have.
Overture with extension means that the actualy domain name (ie NamePros.com) got typed into the search bar and was searched for. It probably wasn't intentional, but since the search bar and address bar may be close on some peope's browsers, it happens. This will usually mean that the domain gets a decent amount of type-in traffic, since for every person that makes this mistake, there are probably a few that don't.

In a nutshell, SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is the process of designing the layout of your web page(s) so that when search engines "crawl" your website for keywords, your website will look better to them, and thus return your page at the top of the results list.
For example:
You have a website about Domain Names.
Someone Googles "Domain Names"
Google's spider crawled your site and determined that the arrangement of the words on your site is the most suitable page for the keyword "Domain Name" so it returns your site as the top result.
This is just one small example and there is a ton more that goes into it.

If you are within the top results for highly searched keywords (which you can find with the overture links I gave you a couple of posts up) then you can expect to get some nice (Read: FREE) traffic from these search engines.
