i think the way you are going about this is what you are doing wrong. You want a logo, not a name. What you should do, is make a design, and put it in as your logo, then put your name by it. You seem to want to advertise the name too much, which is bad. Also, the two letters joined looks bad, especially the two colors... look at my logo: http://poordoggie.co.uk - the paw is the main part, with the name (PoorDoggie) and the slogan as "extras".
